AT-FS705L, ATFS708, AT-FS716L, AT-FS724L and AT-FS708POE v2 switches offer up to 56% more power efficiency
San Jose, Calif., February 22, 2010 – Allied Telesis has pioneered enhanced versions of the AT-FS7XXX family of switches, producing lower-power, eco-friendly unmanaged switches to replace existing products of the same name. Up to 56 percent more power efficient, these updated models operate efficiently and reliably for a variety of network applications.
The AT-FS705L, ATFS708, AT-FS716L, AT-FS724L, and AT-FS708POE v2 switches employ “minimize and measurement” technology to ensure only the minimum power is driven into shorter cable lengths, to significantly lower power consumption and maintain highly efficient power supplies in enterprise networks. In addition, Allied Telesis’ proprietary ECO-Switch technology on the front panel disables LEDs when not needed, reducing the amount of wasted energy when not in use. As a result, these models offer the lowest power consumption of any comparable products on the market.
“Allied Telesis understands businesses are increasingly concerned with limiting their impact on the environment,” said Nick Parades, product marketing manager at Allied Telesis. “The AT-FS7XXX family is another example of how Allied Telesis integrates green technology into their product line without compromising quality or efficiency. By designing our switches up to 30 percent smaller, we not only make the installation process more manageable but are achieving greener business practices by improving the efficiency of supply-chain logistics through lower fuel consumption costs associated with shipping these switches.”
The AT-FS705L, AT-FS716L & AT-FS724L have five, 16, and 24 ports, respectively, while the AT-FS708 and AT-FS708/POE have eight. The eight, 16, and 24 port models are all rack-mountable while all five models are wall-mountable, saving on installation space. All five models come equipped with internal AC power supplies.
All updated FS7XXX products will be available for order from Allied Telesis beginning this month.
